The overall facility against moderate price. Good space, third raw seat convertibility for loading all type of luggage, very attractive look, very economical mileage, good ground clearance, Cockpit style outside vision for the driver

What Can Improve

The dash board, rear axle suspension, readjusting the rear bumper to add more luggage space after the third raw seat, readjusting the engine room/ bonnet space to give little more space to the interior etc.

It is a real SUV for Indian roads and Indian common man

I am proud to be the owner of Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 LT as this car provides me the opportunity to travel with my friends and relatives. My decision to purchase this car was supported by the low price structure and spacious interior. After making a comparative analysis, I finally purchased this car. Even though, the car does not have great looks but it provides sufficient amount of space. The car is a perfect blend of a SUV and MUV and it is suitable for larger families.

The 2499 cc of this car drives me crazy as I can attain high speed any time I press the accelerator. 79 hp power is generated at 3900 rpm, which is quite impressive. For boosting the acceleration level, 5-speed manual transmission is provided in the car. The safety system of this car is impressive as it comes with disc and drum brakes. However, no airbags are present in this vehicle, which is a cause of concern.

External body of Chevrolet Tavera Neo 2 LT is robust in design but it cannot impress a car lover, who looks for style. Due to the diesel engine, I have been able to save some amount of fuel. The diesel engine proves useful in the present age, when fuel prices are rising high.

I have purchased this super Multi utility vehicle and I am always able to bank on this vehicle for long tedious journeys. This grand vehicle is perfect for people who are looking for both a family car and an off-road car. The exterior is superbly sturdy and paired with sophisticated and suave looks; the car creates a perfect balance.

The exterior has features like chrome finish radiator grille, double tone body paint and quaint aluminium side steps. The interior of Tavera comes with ample leg room and luggage to facilitate a comfortable distance journey. The comfortable air-plane like individual seats, ample storage space, vanity mirror and coat hook adds up to a luxurious ride.

Moreover, the front seats have lumber support and independent arm rests, second row seats have sliding and reclining function with arm rest and lumber support. I find features like magazine pockets, vanity mirror, ashtray and cigarette lighter triple row air-conditioning system very advantageous.

Apart from luxury and convenience, this car has not disappointed me in terms of engine performance as well. Judging by its massive structure and capacity, it can still deliver a decent mileage and performance with a direct injection turbo diesel engine.

Exterior comparison

Given the fact that the Chevrolet Tavera’s latest updates were so long ago, this eight-seater vehicle’s design can be considered quite outdated in comparison with other current cars in the market. On the exterior, the Tavera features a mild and modest design. On the front end, this car came with a squarish dual-port grille with two boxy headlights flanked on the two sides. The chunky bumper adds a touch of ruggedness. Two round foglights with chrome rings seem to balance the boxy shape of the fascia. Just like the front design, the side profile and rear end look allied with its front-end design with the same serious and mature style.

Mahindra Bolero, on the other hands, has had more updates than the Chevrolet Tavera. Since the retro style with boxy and robust design has become an attached part of Bolero’s identity, after all the updates and facelift, the Bolero is still reminiscent of the old-styled SUV. In that sense, the Mahindra Bolero doesn’t look more up-to-date than the Chevrolet Tavera. Even though the overall design is not deviating from the classic, box-styled SUV, the Bolero is added with modern and stylish details that make a big difference when compared to the old Tavera.

Interior comparison

As far as the interior goes, the interior of the Mahindra Bolero clearly gets a bonus point. Mahindra Bolero gets an updated interior with a quirky and unconventional instrument cluster in the form of a spreading digital display. Mahindra also makes use of chrome and black piano element for the dashboard, attaching an upmarket feel to it.

Engine & performance

The engine and the performance of the car are certainly commendable. The car has managed to do quite an impressive job for a multi utility vehicle, for it provides a fuel economy of around 12.26 kmpl. The diesel engine can deliver a slightly enhanced mileage of 13.7 kmpl. The newest version of the Tavera, the Neo 3 comes with a VGT engine that can deliver a maximum power of 106 PS at 1500- 400 rpm along with 263 Nm of torque as well. The diesel version of the car is capable of generating around 80 Ps of power at around 3900 rpm, along with 186 Nm of torque that as well.

Exteriors

The Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 is available in variety of colors- Intense Black, Blue, Blazing Red, Rainforest, Cashmere, Champagne Metallic, Casablanca White and Sterling Silver. The new Tavera is as good looking as its predecessors. The Neo 3 has new headlamps, dual port grille, etc. The headlamps have been made more curvy. The front end also comes with effective fog lamps. The rear end of the car has striking tail lamps and a rear wiper as well. The car comes with body colored ORVM and door handles as well. There is a dual color graphic amalgamation in the car. The wheel arches are really impressive and make the car’s alloy wheels look really nice as well. In fact, even the wheels are well crafted in the car.

Safety features comparison

The safety technology of the Chevrolet Tavera is outdated in the current standard. Several safety features which are considered premium years ago are now mandated necessaries, for example, airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor and seat belt reminder for front seats. However, in Tavera’s time-line, these features were not required, hence, non-existed on the Tavera. Chevrolet Tavera only gets some rudimental features like front disc brakes, seat belts, rear child locks.

Mahindra Bolero, in today’s standard, is incompetent in terms of safety equipment. However, the Bolero Plus Power which is the only Bolero available in the market at the moment is better equipped with side airbags, speed alert system, rear parking sensors, and front seatbelt reminders.

Comfort features comparison

In terms of comfort, the Mahindra Bolero is also one step ahead of the Tavera whose technology was forgotten. Chevrolet Tavera is equipped with some standard features like climate control, power window, power steering, remote central locking, rear wiper, and adjustable executive bucket seats. On the entertainment front, the Tavera comes with a built-in 1 DIN audio system with 4 speakers, 2 tweeter and aux-in port, which can meet the basic demand of the car users. On the upside, this car sports a big seating capacity of up to ten occupants, which is higher than Bolero’s capacity of seven to nine occupants (depending on the variant) layout.
